The Legacy at Alazan
The Alazan Lofts is a mixed-use development located in one of the most significant neighborhoods in San Antonio “The Westside”. This medium sized community is an 88-unit multifamily affordable development for residents earning at or below 60% of the area median income. Legacy at Alazan features one four-story elevator building and two two-story walk-ups. The development includes a community center with a fitness center, an activity room, and a community room with a kitchen, a business center, and leasing offices.
Nestled in central San Antonio, a quick drive from the Riverwalk, historic Alamo Plaza, UTSA’s downtown campus, and much of the city’s vibrant cultural scene, Legacy at Alazan offers a uniquely traditional design influenced by local Westside architecture.
National developer NRP Group and Opportunity Home San Antonio commissioned Legacy at Alazan to revitalize the Alazan neighborhood on San Antonio’s west side. Alazan Lofts transitional style of architecture is founded on clean lines and simple forms, with warm, contemporary interiors, brick exteriors, lapped and panel siding and double windows. These striking apartment living blend the contemporary with traditional architectural elements and meld with the surrounding eclectic neighborhood. Gable end roof lines are emphasized with a framework that brings attention to the geometry of the building. Located on five separate lots Alazan Lofts is an artistic and elegant infill solution. Our team considered the existing neighborhood fabric and placed a one 4/3 story building at the project’s distinctive corner of S Colorado and El Paso streets and two 2-story buildings neighboring the Alazan – Apache Courts (one of the first public housing in the United States).
